Otorhinolaryngology and plastic surgery of the head and neck
Davor Džepina, born in Banja Luka, in a medical family, graduated from the Zagreb University School of Medicine. He specialized in otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery for the University Hospital Center “Sisters of Charity” in Zagreb, and subspecialized (fellowship) in plastic surgery of the head and neck – which continues to attract his most important interest.
He regularly upgrades his professional-scientific activity in otorhinolaryngology, plastic and aesthetic surgery by attending most important professional meetings and clinics throughout the worls (USA – New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Boca Raton, San Diego, Iowa City, Philadelphia, Denver; Europe – London, Frankfurt, Erlangen, Regensburg, Graz, Salzburg, Rome, Milan, Bergamo).
As one of the few doctors outside the United States dr. Dzepina is licensed (2008) by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). This certificate hold all licensed head and neck plastic surgeons who practice in the United States.
2010. he obtained a doctorate title (PhD) by defending his doctoral thesis in thyroid gland pathology and surgery.
2011. he became a Fellow of the European Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (FEBORL-HNS). This title is awarded to candidates who have successfully met the professional requirements at the European level, with the aim of standardizing the knowledge of EU countries (UEMS). Concurrently he serves as a faculty member participating in the organization and performance of this exam as an examiner in oral part of the exam.
Since 2013. he holds a position of a Senior Research Associate at the Zagreb University School of Medicine. Earlier Dr. Džepina was a lecturer at the postgraduate course of the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb. However, he also participates in scientific work in collaboration with colleagues in Croatia and around the world.
Since year 2017 he keeps medical title of Primarius.
Current activity
In addition to Zagreb, Dr. Džepina is also active in Graz, Republic of Austria where he runs his own practice within the Grazer Clinic für Aestetische Chirurgie.

Unquestionably, the greatest emphasis in his daily work with patients of the Polyclinic is placed by Dr. Džepina on a detailed individualized approach, with complete and realistic information on all topics in the scope of work of the Polyclinic.
Specifically, he implements the acquired knowledge and new medical technologies in everyday practice, of course only after a critical assessment of their complete safety and efficacy for the patient.

Plastic and hand surgery
He was born in Split in 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb in 1993. After graduating, he passed the professional exam in 1994. He specialized in general surgery at the Zagreb Hospital Center, and passed the specialist exam in 2003. He subspecialized in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery at the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb (KBC), and spent two years of subspecialization at the Queen Victoria Hospital in the United Kingdom. He passed the subspecialty exam in 2008 and has been working at the Department of Plastic Surgery and Breast Surgery at the KBC Rebro Zagreb, and as an assistant at the Zagreb Faculty of Medicine. In 2010, he defended his PhD at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, in 2015 he became an assistant professor, and in 2021 he became an associate professor at the Zagreb Faculty of Medicine. In 2020, he obtained the title of scientific advisor.
During his professional career, he participated in numerous domestic and international professional conferences as a lecturer and organizer, and published over 60 professional and scientific papers that were cited over 500 times in professional literature. He became known to the general public as a member of the team that performed the first successful separation of Siamese twins in Croatia in 2019. He is a member of numerous professional societies, and currently serves as vice president of the Croatian Society for Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Prof. Dr. Sc. Bulić’s areas of special professional interest are hand surgery and congenital anomalies, oncological and reconstructive breast surgery, and cosmetic surgery.

Otorhinolaryngology, Foniatrics
Ana Penezić, born in Zagreb, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, and completed her specialization in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the Sestre milosrdnice Hospital Center in Zagreb, 2016.
She also received her PhD in 2016. from the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb, and in 2021. she earned the title of scientific associate. She acquired her professional and scientific education in otolaryngology, especially phoniatrics and rhinosinusology, but also plastic and reconstructive surgery, at professional conferences, courses and visits to European clinics (Germany – Aachen, Hamburg, Hannover; Austria – Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Graz; Netherlands – Nijmegen; UK – London; Belgium – Leuven; Switzerland – Geneva).
She completed a subspecialization in phoniatrics, and in addition to phoniatrics, she also deals with rhinosinusology and pediatric otolaryngology. In 2022, he becomes a Fellow of the European Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (FEBORL-HNS). She is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Pediatric Otolaryngology and a reviewer in the journal Allergy. She published more than 20 papers in international journals and gave more than 30 lectures at national and international congresses.

Maxillofacial Surgery, Skull base Surgery
Prof. dr. sc. Martin Jurlina, was born in 1966 in Zagreb. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 1993. In 2006. he received his doctorate on the topic “Acoustic rhinometry: correlation between the value of the minimum cross-sectional area of the nose and the body surface area in healthy subjects”. Since 2015. he has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb. He is a specialist in two medical specialties – since 2000. in otorhinolaryngology and since 2008 in maxillofacial surgery.
He is the Head of the Department of Traumatology, Oral Surgery and Temporomandibular Joint Diseases of the Clinic for Facial, Jaw and Mouth Surgery, Dubrava Hospital. He is one of the founders and chairmen of the Croatian Skull Base Society and is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Skull Base Society.
Special areas of professional interest: surgery of the nose/paranasal sinuses and skull base, oncological surgery of the oral cavity, head and neck, surgery of the salivary glands, surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, plastic-reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the head and neck.
